My Survivor Holiday Kit

Ciao mie Care,

ecco un post utile per le vacanze che spero ognuna di voi si appresterà a fare..

Ho messo insieme un kit di prodotti, molti in formato viaggio, che soddisfano le esigenze trucco e cura della pelle, dalla notte al giorno e per look diversi:

ovviamente noterete la mia insaziabile necessità di correttori e matite ma alla fine ognuno di noi ha le proprie manie,no?

Quindi, essenziali sono dei prodotti viso, con SPF naturalmente, una bella palette di ombretti, un colore labbra nude e uno più deciso - da usare magari anche come blush in crema - e un bel illuminante.

Non ho incluso prodotti corpo e capelli che naturalmente cambieranno nel caso di una vacanza al mare o in montagna.

Anyway, la parola d'ordine è RIPOSO E DIVERTIMENTO!

Hello my Dears,

this is a quick useful post for the upcoming holidays that I hope, all of you, are organizing or packing for!

I put together a basic kit with many travel-size products that will satisfy all your skincare and makeup needs, from a natural day look to a smoky eye for the nights out... maybe you can skip the 3 concealers and the many eye liner pencils I picked!

So, for me is essential to have a day cream with SPF, an eye shadow palette, a nude lip gloss and a nice vibrant lipstick - to use as a cream blush too - and last but not least, a nice highlighter..

 I did not include body and hair care products that will obviously change depending on you going to the beach or to the Andes.

Anyway, I just wish you to have a good time and lots of fun!

p.s the bag with the little rabbits contains all the makeup, the small red one with the Chinese writing contains cotton pads and cotton buds, the black organza pouch is for my handbag and the rest is randomly chucked into my suitcase :-)

here are my picks for the months of May.. time to prepare the skin for a light summery make up!

Hence the predominant colour of the products is a nice golden brown and the textures become light and moisturizing.. Summer I am ready!

ecco i miei prodotti di maggio.. è arrivato il momento di optare pe run trucco leggero ed estivo! Come potete ben notare le tonalità diventano di un bel marrone dorato e la consistenza dei prodotti diventa leggera e luminosa.. estate sono pronta!

Avene Tinted Cream - SPF 20: crema colorata leggera e idratante con SPF 20.. I prodotti Avene sono sempre una garanzia! La uso tutti i giorni prima del correttore/cipria e la mia pelle ringrazia!

Mac Paint Pot in Groundwork: questo è uno degli ombretti in crema/basi che preerisco in assoluto.. usato da solo dà definizione alla palpebra e un po' di colore - una sorta di marrone/lilla/tortora - usato come base, invece, rende un ombretto più interessante e leggermente più scuro.. la tenuta è grandiosa e non ho mai notato 'colature'. Promosso a pieni voti!

Debby Sun Experinece Bronzing Powder SPF 15 shade no. 3: terra opaca, di un bel marrone caldo ma non arancione e a soli 6 euro: ma che volete di più dalla vita? L'SPF? e c'ha pure quello!

Pupa Luminys Eye shadow no. 4: adoro gli ombretti Pupa e soprattutto quelli cotti, questo in particolare ha una bella tonalità di marrone, tanto shimmer e bellissimo usato bagnato come eyeliner! Estate sto arrivando!

Rimmel Wake Up Concealer se ne è parlato tanto di questo correttore e quando Lisa Eldridge l'ha nominato, mi sono detta che era giunto il momento di provarlo.. Dà luce al contorno occhi, è cremoso e ha una buona copertura..

 perfetto, perfetto, perfetto!

Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal - shade nude 005: altro prodotto super famoso.. finalmente una matita occhi color carne ad un prezzo decente!

Elf Powder Brush: questo è un vecchio amico che non usavo da tanto... la parte piatta è perfetta per applicare la cipria e fissare il fondotinta/correttore, la parte laterale la utilizzo invece per applicare la terra al di sotto dello zigomo e creare un effetto sculpting fenomentale! 

Avene Tinted Cream - SPF 20: tinted cream that moistures the skin, it is light and contains SPF, perfect compromise for a good skin during summer!

Mac Paint Pot in Groundwork: this is one of my favourite cream eye shadow/eye shadow bases... used by itself gives definition to the eyelid, used as a base darken an eye shadow and gives it more depth.. 

Debby Sun Experience Bronzing Powder SPF 15 shade no. 3: Matte, warm/not orange brown and less then 6 euros.. what do you what more? SPF? It has it too!

Pupa Luminys Eye shadow no. 4: I love Pupa's eye shadows and in particular the baked ones.. this one is intense, long lasting and great used wet as an eye liner..

Rimmel Wake Up Concealer: many people have talked about this concealer and then I heard Lisa Eldridge mentioning it...  so I said to myself, go out and buy it! Good coverage, nice highlighting properties and bargain price.. 

Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal - shade nude 005: this is another super hyped product and it truly deserves all the hype! Waterproof nude eyeliner with a drugstore price, I think I don't need to add more!

Elf Powder Brush: this is an old friend that I haven't used for a while and then I tried the flat side to push powder into the skin and fix my foundation/tinted moisturiser and the edge to sculpt my face with bronzer: it has became a staple in my morning routine!

Summer Sunset

summer is coming and this make me feel like wearing warm colours on my eyes :-)

Buongiorno miei cari,

l'estate è alle porte e ho proprio voglia di colori caldi!!

spero vi piaccia!

1- Prime the eye lid to give more intensity to the eye shadow and better staying power.

2- Apply Mac Expensive Pink all over the eye lid and along the lower lash line.

3- Then blend Mac Pink Freeze along the brow bone down to the inner corner of the eye.

4- Tip the eye shadow brush into Mac Coppering and lightly blend it in the outer corner, where Pink Freeze and Expensive Pink meet to add intensity and to join the 2 colours together.

5- Add Stila eye shadow in Batura along the upper lash line to make the roots of the lashes looking thicker and fuller.

6- Line the water line with a brown pencil - I used Bourjois Brun Design - and add a tiny amount of a violet eye shadow in the centre of the lower lash line - I used Bourjois in Violet Absolu.

7 - Finish off with plenty of mascara, a peach matte blusher and a coloured lip butter, go out and enjoy!

1- Applico una base o un primer sulla palpebra mobile per maggiore intensità dell'ombretto e maggior tenuta.

2- Stendo poi Expensive Pink di Mac su tutta la palpebra e lungo le ciglia inferiori, meglio se bagnando prima il pennello.

3- Successivamente, con un pennello da sfumatura, applico con mano leggera Pink Freeze di Mac sull'arcata sopraccigliare e nell'angolo interno dell'occhio.

4- Per intensificare l'angolo esterno invece aggiungo Coppering di Mac, questo aiuta anche a sfumare insieme ed armonizzare Pink Freeze e Expensive Pink.

5- Delineo la base delle ciglia con Batura di Stila utilizzando un pennellino angolato.

6- Applico la matita marrone nella rima interna dell'occhio e sfumo leggermente un ombretto viola solo nella parte centrale della linea inferiore delle ciglia.

7- Completo il tutto con mascara, un blush opaco color pesca e un lip butter colorato!

Spring is all about colours and brightness... 

here are my picks for this months!

Naked Pigment by Mac - perfect lid colour for lazy days, I love to use a paint pot or a primer and then pack the pigment all over the lid bringing it up to the brow bone... It looks great and I love to use it when I wear glasses because it really gives light to my face!

Elf blush in Peachy Keen - soft peachy blush with some light golden shimmer.. not too obvious but still gives a nice healthy glow... this will be great with a little tan on!

Barry M Eye shadow Pencils in Gold Cream - I have been all about nude eye shadow and bright look so this is the perfect inner corner highlight and it stays on all day!

NYC water street blue nail polish - great colour and amazing consistency for only 1.79£! this is my first NYC item and I am really impressed for the quality/money value... I should try some more!

Topshop Cream Blush in Morning Dew - I have to admit that it looks scary in the pot but is actually a soft corally rosy colour.. this is a cream to powder blush that melts into the skin giving a natural luminous, radiant finish! spring here I come!

La primavera è sinonimo di luminosità e colore.. e queste sono le mie scelte per il mese di aprile!

Pigmento Mac Naked- l'ombretto perfetto per i giorni di pigrizia totale! Mi piace usare un paint pot o un primer e poi concentrare il colore sulla palpebra sfumandolo fino all'arcata 
sopraccigliare. E' un colore semplice ma multiuso e mi piace usarlo soprattutto quando indosso gli occhiali per illumina il viso senza appesantirlo di glitter.

Elf blush in Peachy Keen - questo è un pesca tenue con un leggero shimmer dorato.. niente di troppo ovvio ma questo blush dona un effetto naturale e luminoso alla pelle.. perfetto anche come ombretto...

Barry M Eyeshadow Pencils in Gold Cream - questo mese ho puntato su occhi luminosi e colori nude e questo è l'illuminante perfetto per l'angolo dell'occhio e soprattutto ha una tenuta incredibile!

NYC water street blue nail polish - bellissimo colore e ottima consistenza a soli 1.79£. è la prima volta che utilizzo un prodotto NYC e sono rimasta piacevolmente colpita dal rapporto qualità/prezzo.. devo assolutamente provare qualcos'altro!

Topshop Cream Blush in Morning Dew - Ammetto che dalla confezione il colore fa un po' paura, ma questa crema vellutata si trasforma in un rosa corallo molto delicato.. certo facciamo sempre in tempo ad esagerare! E' un blush in crema che diventa come un blush in polvere lasciando una luminosità naturale sulla pelle! Primavera sto arrivando!

N.7 Lift and Luminate Eye Cream - First impression...

The other day I got a 5£ voucher from Boots for the N7 range and I decided to give their eye cream a go..

So the original price was 16£ and I then paid 11£ for 15 ml of product..

Of course it is too early to give you my opinion on this product so here is the description on the box:

N7 lift and luminate eye cream...

it claims to "reduce the appearance of crow's feet, visibly lift and even skin tone in 4 weeks"

SPF 15

First impression: I love the consistency of the cream, not runny and not too heavy, it absorbs easily into the skin and I am very happy for the SPF 15..

I have to say though that when I was using my beloved Origins GinZing - Refreshing eye cream to brighten and depuff- I could immediately see the brightening effect!.. Also this usually lasted me around 6 months so it is going to be tough for N7!

Qualche giorno fa ho ricevuto un voucher di 5£ per i prodotti di skincare di N7 e ho deciso di provare la loro crema occhi...

Il prezzo originale era di 16£ e ho quindi pagato solo 11£ per 15ml di prodotto.

Ovviamente è troppo presto per dire la mia su questo prodotto e quindi vi riposto la descrizione sulla scatola:

SPF 15 ... quindi effetto lifting, via le zampe di gallina e pigmentazione!

La prima impressione: La consistenza è ottima, cremosa e non troppo liquida, si assorbe facilmente e l'SPF 15 è sicuramente un bonus!

Devo ammette che quando usavo la mia tanto amata Origins GinZing - Refreshing eye cream to brighten and depuff - l'effetto illuminate era immediato.. inoltre 15 ml di prodotto mi duravano all'incirca 6 mesi quindi sarà difficile superare le mie aspettative!

Mac Mineralize Moisture SPF 15 Foundation - a review

today is all about my new best friend, Mac Mineralize Moisture SPF 15 Foundation..

Here is what the website says:

A combination of powders creates an optical blurring effect that virtually diminishes imperfections and fine lines, for a more even tone. The light-reflecting, natural satin finish makes skin appear refined, revitalized and refreshed with a new purity, softly lit from within. SPF 15 adds the perfect finishing touch of sun protection. Features our 77-Mineral Complex, Shea Butter and Vitamin E.

This foundation is great for dry/combination skins, it is packed with very good ingredients, feels great on the skin and provide a medium/buildable coverage.

How I apply it:

I usually prep my skin apply my moisturiser - Olay Daily Moisturiser for normal/combination skin - and I spay some Mac Fix+ and wait a few minutes to let it absorbed into the skin. I then put 2/3 pumps of foundation on the back of my hand and I dot the product all over my face, concentrating on the chin, nose and forehead. I then start blending with my fingers and I do the last blending with the Real Techniques Stippling Brush - link - just to smooth all the edges.

I have been trying to apply it with my N.7 foundation brush but I have to say that blending with my fingers gives me a better coverage.

Last step is powder and I love paring it with Elf Mineral Booster which has a pink undertone and it complements the yellow undertone of the foundation... as Lisa Eldridge said, our skin is not made of only one colour and undertone so in my opinion mixing a yellow tone foundation with a pink tone powder makes my skin glowy and bright!

Oggi mi dedico ad un caro amico, il fondotinta Mac Mineralize Moisture SPF 15..

Una combinazione di polveri crea un effetto ottico che aiuta a rendere meno evidenti imperfezioni e linee di disidratazione per un incarnato dall'aspetto complessivamente più uniforme. La finitura naturale e satinata riflette la luce e aiuta la pelle ad apparire levigata, rivitalizzata e fresca, come illuminata dall'interno. Il fattore di protezione SPF 15 aiuta a proteggere dai raggi solari. La formula comprende il nostro complesso di 77 minerali, burro di karité e vitamina E.

Questo fondotinta è perfetto per pelli secche/miste, è ricco di ingredienti di skincare - burro di karité, minerali e vitamina E - lascia la pelle idratata senza appesantirla e ha una buona copertura.

Come lo applico:

Prima di tutto inizio con la mia crema idratante - Olay Daily Moisturizer for normal/combination skin - e qualche spruzzata di Mac Fix+ e aspetto un paio di minuti affinché il tutto venga assorbito dalla pelle. Poi, sul dorso della mano, verso un po' di prodotto - 2-3 pressioni sul dosatore e la quantità di prodotto è più che sufficiente per tutto il viso - e inizio ad applicarlo su tutto il viso, concentrandomi sul mento, naso e fronte. Preferisco applicarlo utilizzare le mani e poi uno stippling brush - sto usando quello di Real Techniques, link - per armonizzare i contorni del viso ed eliminare ogni linea o differenza cromatica -- anche se in teoria non ce ne dovrebbero essere!

Ho provato l'applicazione con il pennello da fondotinta di N7 ma devo dire che l'applicazione con le dita mi dà maggiore coprenza.

L'ultimo passo è la cipria e sto usando Mineral Booster di Elf che, con il suo sottotono rosato, si sposa perfettamente con il sottotono giallo del fondotinta... come dice Lisa Eldridge la nostra pelle non è fatta di un solo colore e trovo che combinare il sottotono rosa a quello giallo, renda la mia pelle più luminosa!

Fino a questo momento no regrets!
